So i was thinking of what to bring to the table today and my innocent mind went straight to candle. There and then i searched for some images that could fit what my mind saw as candle.
I finally found one on UNSPLASH and trust when i say that i love the pictures i saw especially the one by Prateek Gautam.
After seeing the pictures, i remembered me some years ago. As a child in Nigeria, i was undoubtedly adventurous- just so you know the equivalent of an adventurous is a stubborn child. So, people called me stubborn when i did something stupid.
one of those things i did was to burn a candle in pure daylight. My mother would call out my name in anger because she knew it was no other person but me. “But i was just trying to understand the dynamics of how the candle burnt without oil”.
She never understood my intent. All i needed was to know the dynamics behind how the candle could burn for hours without oil. It some years later that i finally understood the art. All along, it was wax- thank God for education.
My story may not be in anyway related to this prompt…i just feel you need to know my relation and experience with this object. Who knows? You may come up with an award winning poem from it. Talking about award winning poem.
