WHY ARE SUNDAYS SO DEPRESSING BY THE STROKES

This question is somewhat a twist because I can tell you that Sundays are always fun for me and someone else like our dear Robert Fish would say it depressing if he doesn’t get a bottle of wine. Let me know what you think on Daily Wisdom Words Music Prompt.

J.E.S.U.S BY LIVRE

LYRICS

Oh how I love Jesus
Oh how I love Je-Jesus
Oh how I love Je-Jesus, His love’s what saved my soul
His name is J.E.S.U.S
I know that Jesus is the best
And when I call upon His name
Things in my life begin to change
And since He came into my life
The giants are out of sight
His name is J.E.S.U.S
Oh, I know that he he’ll come to my west
X2
I am Saved
Oh I am saved
Ohhh I am saved

ADORNMENT

An emotion one feels when we worship something or someone is adornment.  Is adornment a positive thing?  In my opinion, it can be or not.  When I think of “adornment”, I only feel this way towards God and Jesus.  However, others can feel adornment towards others.  Adornment is placing others on a pedestal.  One thing I have seen is others adorning or worshipping other human beings.  This may lead to the idolization of one who is a leader.  Before going any further, we will take a look at the definition of adornment.

Webster Dictionary meaning of Adornment-1.  A thing which adorns, or decorates; an ornament. 2.  the action of adorning something.  Something that adds attractiveness.

Daily Wisdom Words Definition-1.  Worshipping a thing.

I think we can all easily get caught up in worshipping “things”.  We work hard for what we have, and if we are like most people, this is not by choice.  It is hard to think about the really important things in life when your focus is directed on something else 40-50 hours of the week.  However, adorning or worshipping the things in life produced from this time and energy isn’t a positive thing at all.  I don’t know if many of you have heard the saying, “We are born with nothing in this world, and go away with nothing.”  The point I think this quote makes is exactly what I just pointed out.  It is easy to get caught up in material things.

I am no stranger to this.  I spent close to 25 years thinking of the home I had as mine.  I guess looking back on this, in my own way I worshipped this home.  It was my pride, my joy, what I had worked hard to buy myself.  Before I knew it, the recession of 2008 hit, I had severe health issues, and it required everyone in my family to help me pay for this home.  I actually kept this home until my children had both moved out and my daughter married.  However, I had to face the fact that it was so difficult to pay for it that I no longer could.  Also, it wasn’t practical to need that much space any longer.  I simply couldn’t justify it.  I had to move.

Along with moving, I sold half my belongings and found a place half the size of this house.  I spent one year severely depressed, and almost had a mental breakdown as I had also lost my career.  My point by picking this daily wisdom words is don’t worship and cherish the “things” in your life but cherish your loved ones and God.  Thanks so much for reading about adornment with me today. Have a beautiful and blessed day!!!!!!!  Samantha Leboeuf/Daily Wisdom Words

REVERENCE

What does reverence mean, and how can we benefit from it depending on who or what we feel reverent about?  We desperately need reverence or faith in our life, just as we need hope.  Before we go any further, let us take a look at the definition of reverence in our Webster Dictionary and our Daily Wisdom Words Definition.

Webster Definition for Reverence:  1.  Deep respect for someone or something . 2.  to regard or treat someone with great respect.  There are two synonyms for reverence are:  awe, revere, venerate

Daily Wisdom Words Definition of reverence:  1.  Having faith or belief in someone or something.  Believing in something with total respect.

Reverence is similar to faith, because it requires belief in something you cannot use your senses for. You cannot hear reverence, taste reverence or smell it, so it is not defined as easily.  Reverence in a “feeling” of profound respect for someone, almost an idolization, and this type of respect and admiration is only found in something that is meaningful to us.  I use the word reverence in association with the feelings I have for God.  I am in awe of him.  I also have feelings not quite as intense as faith or reverence, still intense and based on the power behind my belief.  These types of deeply intense feelings are reserved for loved ones  such as our parents, or my  children.

Sad, children when they are small, seem to idolize their parents, and have reverence for them. As they get older, they begin to see the flaws in their parents and realize they are not super powers as they once thought.

I think there is much in this world to be grateful for, and I feel reverence does include how we feel about the person or angel or God we look up to.  In fact, in the Webster Definition of the word, how we feel about the person also defines reverence.

When one feels reverence towards another, it is not uncommon for them to take a bow, and adore who they feel it for.  This is why, for me, I feel this towards God.

Some individuals feel deep reverence for their president.  I will not “comment” on this, currently.  Daily Wisdom Words is designed to be objective, but there are many times, you will see my opinion of the wisdom word.
