As you celebrate the holidays, don’t forget to celebrate YOURSELF.

-Neel Trivedi

As I write this, Christmas is just a few days away. All around my neighborhood and nearby grocery stores, I see some of the brightest and beautiful lights. And that’s certainly a great feeling.

But as we celebrate the getting together of our families, Christmas trees, presents and eggnogs, don’t forget to celebrate something else: YOURSELF.

No doubt, 2020 has been a tumultuous year for everyone and we’re all ready to put it behind us. That’s why it’s crucial to celebrate and be grateful for the fact that you’re still here. If you have still a pulse and a heartbeat, you’ve survived yet another array of toxic events.

So as you put the last ornament on your tree and/or pack the last remaining present, give yourself this much: Stop what you’re doing and close your eyes. Take a deep breath (or two) and say “I rejoice in and celebrate the fact that I’m still around IN SPITE of everything that’s transpired.”

You might already feel that way and might already be thankful for it. That’s good. But saying it out loud puts it out there more directly. The universe hears it, God hears it and YOU hear it.

As bad as this year might have been, the signs of hope are still there. Vaccines are approved. Changes in leadership are imminent. And most importantly, you survived. So why not celebrate that?

How do you feel about celebrating yourself? Do you agree or disagree that there is hope on the horizon? Why or why not? Do you believe that saying something out loud is more advantageous than just thinking it? Share thoughts and experiences by commenting below on our secure servers.
