DEEP WATER BY AMERICAN AUTHORS

LYRICS

It comes and goes in waves
It always runs back but it’s never quite the same
Well, I think there’s something wrong with me
Got nothing to believe, can’t you see it on my face
I was going for the title, got hit by your tidal wave, uh
Can’t stay in the shallows, please tell me I won’t wash away
When it pulls me under, will you make me stronger
Will you be my breath through the deep, deep water
Take me farther, give me one day longer
Will you be my breath through the deep, deep water
Ain’t even scratched the surface
Thinking I deserve the dream but I don’t deserve the hurting
I want the flame without the burning
But I can’t find my purpose when I don’t know what my worth is
I was going for the title, got hit by your tidal wave, uh
Can’t stay in the shallows, please tell me I won’t wash away
When it pulls me under, will you make me stronger
Will you be my breath through the deep, deep water
Take me farther, give me one day longer
Will you be my breath through the deep, deep water
When I’m sinking like a stone
At least I know I’m not alone
When I’m sinking like a stone
At least I know I’m not alone
When it pulls me under, will you make me stronger
Will you be my breath through the deep, deep water
Take me farther, give me one day longer…

  1. Gone

    The water was deep
    It was over my head
I tried to call to you
    “Don’t be scared”
    “I’m coming to help you”
Water filled my mouth and lungs
    A wave crashed over me
    My furious paddling
    Was of no use
    Submerged, I remained
    Inside my head, screaming
    “I love you.
    “But I cannot reach you”

  2. I will tell you the truth:
    i don’t feign a quaint feel
    in deep poetic waters
    when I sink in watery

    thoughts of how to
    use this art to tell
    you how I feel
    at the bed of emotion.

  3. Like a relic detached
    from time i seek
    to understand
    this fear ever so present
    feelings condensed
    in the baking sand
    surging through tidal waves
    through maelstrom
    of emotions to
    get on the right lane
    of a permeated vision
    if you will only
    You hold my hand.

  4. I am the shell
    Clinging to driftwood
    Deepest of waters
    Surround my essence
    There is no shallow
    I swim with the current
    Will the shores
    I ever reach
    The tides are high
    And the lighthouse dim
    Its keepers
    Have fallen asleep

  5. Deep water souls we are
    alive in a magical galaxy
    sharing our love, breath
    water and light.

    Dreams we surface upon
    they pull us under
    burning our memories
like love branded in our hearts.

    Deep water is our home
    darkness spans this universe
    across mother stars
    please stay with me.

  6. I can’t
    Breathe at
    The bottom
    Of the sea
    In a mire
    Of feelings
    Please I
    Need you
    To breathe
    For me
    As the
    Fight has
    left me
    I need
    Your breath
    To save me
    Or have
    You given
    Up on me
    I will turn
    This into
    A dream
    Where I
    Rise above
    Thee
    In this sacred
    Water
    Of the deep

  7. PLEASE ANSWER ME

    I’ve got a burdened brain.
    A dreamer would suffice
In a time of long thoughts

When dust turns to a fiery spirit
    That begets in seconds fear
For what is not to be feared.

How did I even fear the dust?
Is it cos of this unconscious
    Feel of mind-fat burden deep?

    I saw a water fish
but it was water and fish
    What did I see?

  8. Deep, deep waters
    I’m drowning in tears
    A broken heart
    The loneliness of soul’s ice
    How quickly things can turn
    Forever cold frozen soul
Crystal is the rose in time
    Touch a petal frail
    Shattered the feelings of love
