Water; the soul if nature is a body,
Devoid of which there can be no life, no energy.
Yet it continues to deplete out of ignorance,
as most of us are unaware of its benevolence.
With it’s soft caress,
and its comforting coolness
rejuvenates us does it from the harsh rays of sunlight.
Water is in our blood, Water is in our breath.
Water is that one substance,
which was, is and will remain to be the reason for our existence.
Defiantly, it continues to be poisoned by us.
As of now, we show no remorse.
But a day will come soon,
When no single drop of water shall remain.
That day, life and so food will disappear,
and become shall the rays of the sun, even hotter.
Then only perhaps we shall realize our error,
when out of severe thirst,
and us living our last moments,
we beg for a drop of water!
I awake in the morning
My mouth dry
And my hardest I try
To pull myself up from bed
Because I know that where I will head
Is straight to the kitchen
My legs weary
Head dreary
Yet
I open my fridge
And pull out the pitcher
of Nice
Cold
Water
That soothes my soul
A heart touching comment!
An important and outstanding thought, Yasir.
Thank you Shirley
