Don’t let friends fool you when they give you the ‘i am fine’ treatment. There’s a whole of things going on in their head. Talk to them. Give them a call.
I will leave you to it.

Deception henders
A child’s mind
Making magic from
Pills and lines
At first they care
Sitting there
Leading you stray
From reality
Piece by piece a
Shattering
Pockets fill for every
Pill
Trusting smiles adults
Who care
Turned their back
Caged a child
Left her there
The very screams
You hear from me
Don’t compare
To solitary
Smelling pain
Seeing eyes weeping my memory of each child lost
Photographs of Rain
Will you stay close
follow my stricken words
share your hopeful frame
treasure a mental photograph.
Sinking from rapt health
she can’t breathe
can you hold on tight
help her out of this rain.
We all need someone
to walk inside our minds
polish frantic dust
picture what was real.
One amazing thing that I admire in this poem is the diction and how the words represent writers I know in the writing community.
I see what you word
Mishmash Brain
Frozen in time, nowhere to go
Voices in my brain, telling what they know.
Creepy little words rumble my brain
Trying to make matter, a reason or explain.
Definitions scramble up, a mix match of words
Scatters the brain like fly away birds.
A struggle, a defeat
An everyday pain
The secret surroundings
Of a Mishmash Brain.
Give me a pill to drown out the voices
Or give me a list of some other choices.
Closing in, it’s about to explode
Disappointments quietly unfold.
Repeating the cycle of an unopened door
Accepting the challenge, wanting no more.
A victory, a smile
A courage of propane
Exploding through the words
Of a Mishmash Brain.
Winning the war of words unsaid
Waking the silence of the undead.
Mishmash Brain settle on down
I’ve got the control this time around.
Freedom I have, a whole world to explore
Voices in my brain, settling the score.

Beautiful, Catherine.
Yeah…and very descriptive
Thank you 💞
Correct me if I am wrong…I think you are describing a mental surge…in this case there’s a victim and he or she is trying to quell the noise upstairs with drugs.
Thank you Abuh 💞 it is about the voices in one’s head, whether it be drug, mental, physical abuse or suicide related. It’s the 2 voice that battle in your head, one that says you can’t and the one that says you can ❤
