Hello everyone,
Hope you’re safe at home because you need to be…it is another day to get a thousand words out of a picture.
So, look at the picture and compose a poem inspired by the picture. Be sure to include these words: patriarchy and women.
Just so you know, the Poetry contest is still up. $200 for winner.
Patriarch Matriarch
Life carrier, life bearer
Nobody fairer
She who must be obeyed
The one who would come to your aid
Whether its champagne or lemonade
Sometimes stern but don’t be afraid
Theres nothing better than your mother’s love for you
POEM BY KARL WOMACK
Potatoes, potatoes rotting in the field. Patriarchy Englishmen won’t relent. Women cannot get the harvest. We cannot reap our yield. Potato famine now at hand. What ere we gonna do? Go. go to America, girl; that’s what we’re gonna do. Where Englishmen there will also hate us few. But we will make it by and by, with children, prayer, a song and a sigh.
