Daily Wisdom Words

Today’s daily wisdom word should brighten your day. I was researching last night and happened to run across an article that read “English language most attractive 30 words” and Serendipity happened to be one of them.

What does Serendipity mean? According to the Webster Dictionary, Serendipity means this: -1. The gift of finding valuable or agreeable things or situations not sought for.

The definition I found in the article will be our daily wisdom word definition: 1. The chance occurrence of events happening in a beneficial way when least expected.

This is happening right now between two people on opposite ends of the world who happen to have connected in a very special way through their poetry. I cannot quite explain it and I am sure neither one of them can either, but yet, it is so.

The next example of Serendipity I think of is the movie, “Sleepless in Seattle” when two people meet who should never bump into each other but do, and they take one look into one another’s eyes and are instantly star-crossed lovers destined to be together. Do you by any chance think I am a romantic? You don’t need Serendipity to tell you this.

Poetry is the same way only with words that the Poet just happens to put together one word at a time, one verse at a time, arriving at a connected masterpiece of art making it beneficial for us to read through their eyes. Some of the greatest Poetry has been inspired by Serendipity, using words you would not normally put together, creating a visual, verbal, written masterpiece coming together in the right way at the right time when your writing it to make it possible.

One reason Serendipity is amongst the top 30 most attractive words of the English language, is also because of the way it sounds when you say it. It sounds like a word you want to use over and over again just to hear the sound of it.

Another example of Serendipity is that perfect pot of soup, smelling so wonderful in your kitchen you just threw together with ingredients you just happened to have, and of course it is snowing horribly outside, so you throw these ingredients together and they taste like the best pot of soup ever made. This is the chance occurrence of “ingredients” coming together in a beneficial way when least expected, but most needed.

Last, when we lose all hope and faith, and feel like it is over for us, this is a good time to remember “serendipity”. Better things will be on the horizon for you and they may just have serendipity on their mind.

Quote of the day- “Don’t ever lose hope or faith, because you never know when Serendipity may happen in your life.”
