MISTAKES

Mistakes-We all make them.  What is the exact definition of a mistake?  Let us take a look at our Webster Dictionary to find out.

Mistake-1.  An action or judgement that is misguided or wrong.  2.  Something, especially a word, figure, or fact which is not correct;  an inaccuracy.

Daily Wisdom Word Definition of Mistake-Doing something the wrong way unintentionally.  Something we have done that needs corrected.

Mistakes are easy to make.  We get in a hurry and the next thing you know, we have made a mistake.   We are after all human beings, and are not expected to be perfect but our work is.  We can’t afford to make a mistake because we will get in trouble with our boss.  Also, making a mistake costs time and money when your on the clock, so it makes no sense to make them.  Yet, we do make mistakes;  not just with our work, but with our judgement.

They seem inevitable no matter how hard we try to think them out before making a decision or write out the pros and cons of making that decision to begin with.  I know I have made them often enough.  I know when I get in a hurry, I make more of them.  It seems I make more of them the quicker I try to finish or make my decision.

My mother always tried to teach me to slow down.  If your someone like my daughter, you can get your work done quickly and avoid making a mistake.  Some people just seem to have that gift.  When evaluating what kind of person you are, determine if you can work fast and not make mistakes.  If your like me, and have to slow down to get your work correct, then isn’t it best to know this up front and overall save yourself time in the long run?

Second, don’t be too hard on yourself when you do make a mistake.  Realize they are going to happen and accept yourself for being a human being.  After all, isn’t making mistakes and learning from them part of being one?

Thank you so much for reading about mistakes with me today.  Have a beautiful and blessed day.  I would love it if you would share a comment or instance where you made a mistake or a poem or quote about mistakes at the bottom of this page where it says, “join the discussion”.  Thanks so much!
