Daily Wisdom Words

Most of us know what simplicity means but we will take a look at the meaning of the word from our Webster Dictionary-1. Lack of complication; clearness 2. Candor artfulness 3. Plainness in manners or way of life.

Daily Wisdom Word Meaning: 1. going back to the basics with our living style.

Why did I choose this daily wisdom word? I feel we could all use a lesson in simplicity with our way of life. We all have gotten into living a simplistic lifestyle with computer systems and I-phones. These systems in their very essence are designed to make our lives easier but does there come a point where our lives are perhaps too easy?

I believe there does. We can rely on technology, to the point of having our groceries and prescriptions sent to our front door. Although this is convenient, I can tell you from my perspective, it makes it awfully easy, since I don’t work, to stay inside. Agoraphobia, an anxiety disorder centered on the fear of going outside one’s home, would be easy to develop even for the most normal of persons because the way life is designed now, it is so simplistic.

We can literally have food from any of our favorite restaurant delivered to our homes within an hour so with no absolute “need” to go anywhere or do anything, even depositing checks now is done on our phones, what will happen to us? Just food for thought for those that are now suffering with the beginning stages of agoraphobia like myself. This simplistic lifestyle is what has led up to this.

What can we not do from our homes with fed-ex and delivery services of all types? I really have to think about this to come up with good answers. My point is, let us not take advantage of what we have available at our fingertips at all times. It simply isn’t healthy as it trains us to stay indoors especially if our hobbies are done indoors as well. Think about the potential outcomes of having everything right at your fingertips. Ask yourself if it all is a positive thing, and shouldn’t we consider doing some of these things, the long handed manner, so we at the very least don’t get lazy?

Thanks so much for reading, and have a beautiful and blessed day.
