Why is it important to have wonder in our lives? Let us first take a look at the Webster Dictionary at what wonder exactly means.
Wonder-1. The emotion aroused by something awe-inspiring, astounding, or surprising. 2. The quality that arouses such emotion. 3. One that arouses awe, astonishment, surprise, or admiration; a marvel 4. An extraordinary or remarkable act or achievement. An event inexplicable by the laws of nature; a wonder
Wonder is a Wonderful Daily Wisdom Word. Life nowadays is based more on logic, and wonder, and awe is rarely seen. However, it is out there. An example of wonder is something I see happening when I go to church on Christmas Eve. The man who has been on the freeway having a road rage attack, will be the same man standing next to me in church, crying, because he is awe-inspired by the service. God brings about wonder.
The feelings wonder brings about are when we are around the unexplainable. We see something that inspires us to be a better person. What makes wonder so very valuable is it inspires HOPE. Hope, is not easy to inspire. We can even believe in the unbelievable when we are experiencing wonder.
Wonder is exceptional because it is the exception rather than the rule of life. Wonder is beautiful, and creates, not only feelings in our hearts and minds, but feelings in our souls. Wonder is to look at something in amazement and have to look again in order to really believe it exists.
I had a strange experience in my life that brings me wonder to this day. When my younger sister lost her child just 3 days before her third birthday, you can’t imagine the grief I saw. I don’t know, nor can I logically explain what happened, but God must have been watching over all of us, and he chose me to work through. I was asleep one night just a few days after she passed and my sister and her husband, and our entire family were inconsolable.
My sister has always viewed me as the logical one in the family, which I think had much to do with what happened, but as I mentioned, I was dead asleep, and woke up in the middle of the night. I saw Hilary, walk into Jesus’s arms, just as if I were watching television on a big screen television. There is no explanation for this, but the amazing amount of comfort it brought my sister to know I had seen this, was a real wonder. She knew I wouldn’t lie about something like this, and she also knew how logical I was, so she believed me. I, to this day, cannot begin to explain to you why I saw this, but it gave my sister hope. It gave her hope that there was something better out there for Hillary.
It also brought me a great deal of peace and other family members including her husband. I have no idea what I saw, but I would like to believe it happened to give us hope. I would like to believe it was a true sign from God, and do believe this, but today in this world, things like this don’t happen to me. My sense of logic is too strong.
We all need wonder in our lives to keep hope alive. I believe in the law of attraction, and have to believe, and know it to be true, that if we seek or need wonder in our lives, it does show itself, even today.
Thank you for reading about wonder with me today. Look around; Three is wonder all around you. You just need to open your eyes to see it. Have a beautiful and blessed day.
