HEAT AND WAVE

Currently, the heat wave is getting worse and many countries are experiencing it differently. I may be over-exaggerating but from the statistics I have gathered, nations need to come together and discuss at length issues concerning climate change.

Some days ago, a 7.2 earthquake hit Haiti and flooding is still on in Japan and some other countries. Seriously, nations need to sit and talk about climate change. It is quite hot in Nigeria and I am guessing it is hot in U.S.A too. Let us talk about it today on Daily Wisdom Words Picture Writing Exercise. How is the heat wave affecting you?

CREATIVE AND PROCESS

Some two days ago I was involved in a not so fruitful creative process that paved way for bickering and mental nags. I do not know if you have felt that before but I have. You see, when we try to let go of the burden or beautiful flares that lurks inside, expressing it becomes a little bit of a hustle as we try to figure out ways to express it all.

My creative process may be different from yours and yours different from mine. Do you want to talk about it? What you say here may help someone out there and that is exactly what Daily Wisdom Words is all about. Welcome to Daily Wisdom Words Picture Poetry Writing Exercise. My name is Abuh Monday Eneojo. I will be your host.

MICHELLE AND SEYCHELLES

It is no news that Michelle Huggelmann celebrated her birthday yesterday. I feel I did not do enough for her. We’ve really come a long way. I remember what she shared some two years ago which really helped my creative process, now that is the kind of friend you keep. She said “I am your number one fan”.

So, I am raising a glass to a friend who believes and shares in an idea i may not believe in some times. I am raising a glass, a virtual and imaginary one, to a friend who cares to say hello when she notices my absence. All i can say is say “You, are my number one fan. I patiently wait for your creative fruition.”

Alright! Let’s do this. I know you know this pretty lady from the beautiful Island in the Eastern parts of Africa, Seychelles. Emmm…

SOUND AND SILENCE

It is quite interesting to have two words that I hold dear. There is not a day I don’t listen to good sound and I still find time to embrace silence so sanity can prevail. Call it a remedy to all that enters my ears each day. Between silence and sound, I don’t know which is dearest to me. Enough about me. Tell me what you think about these words, Sound and Silence.

PICTURE POETRY: UNION OF ELEMENTS

We’ve all heard of the basic elements that we need to survive: water, fire, air, space, etc.

But what would happen if two or more of those elements had a union?

I was having these thoughts when I took today’s picture a few days ago. I then digitally added the sun and the moon in it to create a union.

What do elements mean to you?

What does union mean to you?

Look at the picture and let it inside your aura. Embrace it. Talk to it and then compose a poem with either of these two prompts: “Union” and “Elements.” Share it with below in the comments section.

SANDS & SHADOWS

Feel the wind frolicking on your face,
And the sunlight smiling around your eyes
Let your feet romance the sand
Tattooing your memories on the shadow
To let this moment in perpetuity
Be lovingly called Heaven on Earth
-Neel Trivedi

Let’s all go the beach today.

Today’s picture for Picture Poetry is contributed by none other than a dear member of our Daily Wisdom Words family, Michelle Hugelmann.

Take a look at it and imbibe the shadow resting peacefully on the sand. What thoughts and words circle your aura? What comes to mind?

Compose a poem using one of these two prompts, “sand” and “shadow” and share it with us in the comments below.

TUMOR AND FREE

Tumor and free

Today, i celebrate with those who fought tumor and overcame it. I also give hope to those still in the fight with tumor. Like my friends would say IT WILL BE WELL. I still remember how devastated my uncle and hi family were when he had his own fair share of this ailment; i also remember how Reenie O’Dea, our podcast host, felt when this ailment affected her daughter but we thank the ALMIGHTY GOD for liberty and good health right now.

Neel Trivedi is also part of this success story. Let’s talk about tumor and being free from it today on Daily Wisdom Words Picture Prompt. I am Abuh Monday Eneojo. I will be your host.

DYSCALCULIA AND CHILDREN

According to Wikipedia, dyscalculia is a disability resulting in difficulty learning or comprehending arithmetic, such as difficulty in understanding numbers, learning how to manipulate numbers, performing mathematical calculations and learning facts in mathematics.

This disability abounds in children and adults too. One of the perks of having dyscalculia is that there is high retention of words. In other words, children with dyscalculia are great writers. Let us talk about it today.

TWO AND PERFORMER

Pas de deux by Lee Zimmerman

The title, two and performer, is gotten from the meaning of the French word pas de deux which happens to be the original title of the art I am featuring on Daily Wisdom Words Picture Writing Exercise today. Credit goes to Lee Zimmerman, a SPIN distinguished Silk Artist i met on Twitter.

THRILLS AND EXPRESSION

thrills and expression

Most of the times, I write what I feel when I feel it. It brings me to the thrills of getting to know that my book is now on Amazon for both Paperback and Kindle. That is not all. How did I express this joy and success? Well, I kinda danced with my dog. Hahahaha…I did no such thing as it was late when the news came to me.

The expression on my face was purely jocund. Jocund because I have been trying to do this for a while now but each I try it just did not work. Tell me, what thrills you? What has brought you the greatest joy in recent times? How did you express that joy?

TALL & SOARING

Tall and soaring? What do these two words mean to you?

The obvious definitions are of course related to height and flying high, respectively.

But there’s an entire universe beyond what’s on paper. You can “stand tall” and still be short biologically. You can “soar high” through pivotal achievements even if you’re not literally anywhere in the sky.

Let your imagination soar high by looking at today’s picture and compose a poem with either of the two prompts “tall” or “soar.”

UINQUE AND RARE

Unique flower by Reenie O'Dea

have you heard of the story of a rare flower in a faraway land of valleys? Well, that is the picture that comes to my mind any time i cast a gaze on this picture. One thing about the artist behind this beautiful piece that is being featured on the prompt today is that she paints what she feels but when i see it it presents itself in another form. This kind of art is unique and rare.

That is where i got words, unique and rare, for today’s prompt. Welcome to Daily Wisdom Words Picture Writing Exercise. I am Abuh Monday Eneojo. I will be your host.

HUGGING THE WORLD

Different eyes see different perspectives in different situations.

Hi dear friends and members,

It’s an honor this week to guest host @mondaydpoet’s Picture Poetry series.

Take a look at today’s featured image. I had designed it as a digital art piece for a very specific purpose. But when I showed it to some people, independent of the endeavor I was working on, everyone had a different interpretation of what it could be for?

What do you think about it? What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you look at it?

Share your thoughts and opinions by writing a poem about it in the comments section below!

Lily and Color

What color of Lily do you want? You have to tell me now so Reenie O’Dea can paint one for you. Like i said you have to tell me now because the window to this bonanza is thin. Hahahahaha! I am just kidding. You see, art has a way of finding you even when you have no business whatsoever with it. You have your own story of how you encountered art and i certainly have mine.

For the sake of art, a tool we all love, let us look at this wonderful colors that was artfully mixed to create a lily. Are you ready to put on your writing cap? If you are ready;

Talking and Listening

If everyone is talking no one is talking.

Have you heard that statement before now? Well, I have heard. Infact, I use it often in the class when I am teaching. I must confess. It gets so noisy when everyone is talking with you in the middle trying to figure it all out. It is quite stressful. Take it from me because I feel all day except Saturday and Sunday.

I’d like us to really talk about this today because these words, talking and listening, is huge chunk of human existence. Without it many things would have been in rumble. What do you think?

Divide and Religion

Not too long ago i pondered on the divide religion and our beliefs as human beings has wrought. As a teacher of English Language, i am saddled with the responsibility to teach students to the best of my knowledge what i know. But, when i realize the divide and so big a space the relationship human beings share when religion is raised or embraced is quite disheartening.

The way i see it religion should not be a divide. It should be something that brings us all together. I will leave you to it. Tell me what you think of the subject. Welcome to Daily Wisdom Words Picture Writing  Exercise. I am Abuh Monday Eneojo.
