SHORES AND ME

Shores and me

In my lowliest of times i find myself thinking of me in places i desire like shores, mountains, the great wall of China, Los Angeles, Seychelles etc. Before i get into the exercise today, i would love to tell you a story.

Today, i was compelled to go the bank to make some deposit- mother’s order. I never knew it was going to take more than two hours to actually get into the bank because of Covid which was and still is my fond reason for not going to the bank to do anything.

I won’t bore you with the whole stress on standing for five hours- i am not kidding. While i waited for my turn in front of the cashier, a dark thick Muslim whose facial expression reeked a great deal of frustration because the counting machine kept on with its habit of scattering the money it was supposed to count smoothly. I just could not but smile at what i saw, not her facial expression this time, but letters beneath my feet. it said:

Think outside of the box but stay within the circle.

Sublime, right? I just could not help but smile and think on it. At least it eased the stress of standing. The aforementioned quote is no loner. Do you see the connection with the words and the beautiful picture by Michelle Huggelmann and the words ‘Shores and me’?

FOLLOWING YOUR INNER FASHION STATEMENT

“Care about what other people think and you will always be their prisoner.”
-Lao Tzu

We all are swayed by it at one point or another. We all have, at least once, been allured by it, many times at a high cost. I’m talking about fashion.

REVELATION SONG BY KARI JOBE

“Our Lord has written the promise of resurrection, not in books alone, but in every leaf in springtime”

Martin Luther.

If we should go by what is happening right now, we would without any form of coercion conclude that the world will head to it’s end in ten years.

Things die but I have gone through the shores of mother nature and she has taught me in her many classes, the power of resurrection.

The implication is that, if by chance this world and everything in it dies, it will someday resurrect to be something more beautiful. Truth be told, this is applicable to anything you are going through now.

No matter how it rottens, it’ll come back. Infact, the more rotten it gets before death, the faster the process of resurrection. So, do not be scared of whatever you’re going through right now. It will come out beautiful at the end.

I would have said “take the cue from Jesus” but you may not believe. So, take the cue from the dry or rotten seeds you plant everyday.

Let’s talk about it. Pour it out in a poem. I’ll be here to answer everyone. That’s a promise.

ARTIST AND COLOR

Hello guys,

I’m very sorry for not engaging your minds with a picture here on DWW picture poetry. I have been trying to fix up my studio as well as my SoundCloud account. You can follow me via the link below.  https://soundcloud.com/abuh-monday-eneojo

Anyways, i have been thinking of how strange i can get when it comes to identifying some colors. I really do not know what to call it but i’m very sure that i am not the only boat in this river.

I do not know my colors. There! I said it. All i that i can boldly point out are the most common colors such as black, red, white, yellow, orange, blue and ash (my favorite)…hahahhahahahaha

Maybe it’s because i do not work with them like @reeniereid1 on the canvas. But that’s no cogent excuse! Let us talk about it on the prompt today.

TREES AND SUNSET

I took this picture yesterday when trying to get the silhouette version of the tree as the sun was setting. It was quite a beautiful venture yesterday. Don’t worry, you’d be the first to see the video.

Anyways, let us go straight into the business of the day

LYRICS

You tell all the boys no
Makes you feel good yeah
I know you’re out of my league
But that won’t scare me away oh no
You’ve carried on so long
You couldn’t stop if you tried it
You’ve built your wall so high
That no one could climb it
But I’m gonna try…

BLUR AND COLOR

Truth be told, I never knew it would come out this beautiful. I had a Nikon D3500 Camera and many beautiful things in front of my natural lens and the camera lens as well- wanted to call it artificial.

Don’t actually know how it was done but the light bulbs were scattered, intentional, over a tree. It made it so beautiful that both lens needed a capture.

So, I lifted the camera and through the lens I saw something not so beautiful until I made it blurry. I was damn happy at the outcome.

Don’t see what we do here as trite. It’s fun, educating, and most of all inspiring. You know what to do.

That alone is sublime and filled with beautiful craze. I’m going to leave you to it. But before i do, Reenie can you paint this?

BEAUTY – ONE YEAR LATER

“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.”
-Margaret Wolfe Hungerford

It’s getting close to almost a full year since I integrated myself within this wonderful community and wonderful family known as Daily Wisdom Words. This post is a celebration to that. When Samantha first approached me to write the Wisdomology section of this site, I was very grateful for the opportunity and kind of resurrected my love for writing, especially non-fiction writing as I had not done that since my days as a journalist nearly 10-12 years ago.

ADMIRATION

TODAY’S DAILY WISDOM WORD IS ADMIRATION.  I TRULY ADMIRE CERTAIN INDIVIDUALS FOR SPECIFIC QUALITIES.  I ADMIRE MY DAUGHTER AND SON VERY MUCH.  I AM PROUD OF THE INDIVIDUALS THEY HAVE GROWN UP TO BE.  I THINK YOU CAN TELL A LOT ABOUT A PERSON BY THE PARTNER THEY PICK.  I FEEL LIKE I HAVE BEEN VERY BLESSED WITH MY SON NOW ENGAGED TO A DAUGHTER-IN-LAW TO BE, AND MY SON-IN-LAW WHO IS SIMPLY PUT, “A GOOD PERSON”.  I ADMIRE MY DAUGHTER-IN-LAW TO BE, BECAUSE SHE IS SO KIND AND HER HEART IS BIG.  SHE IS AN AMAZING PERSON WHO IS ALSO A SCHOOL TEACHER FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHILDREN.  YOU CAN TELL BY THE WAY SHE SPEAKS OF HER CHILDREN IN THE CLASSROOM HOW MUCH SHE CARES.  SHE AND MY SON COULD PROBABLY BE STRANDED ON AN ISLAND TOGETHER, AND BE HAPPY IF THEY WERE THERE TOGETHER FOREVER ENJOYING EACH OTHER’S COMPANY.  MY DAUGHTER-IN-LAW TO BE IS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL AND DOESN’T NEED TO DO ANYTHING TO BE.  I THINK WHY I ADMIRE THIS QUALITY IN HER, IS BECAUSE SHE DOESN’T EVEN KNOW THIS.  I DON’T THINK SHE PLACES NEARLY THE VALUE OF BEING PHYSICALLY BEAUTIFUL, BECAUSE SHE IS SO MUCH MORE THAN THIS.  SHE MIGHT NOT EVEN BE AWARE OF THIS.  I DON’T THINK THAT IS A QUALITY YOU SEE OFTEN IN OTHERS.  SHE SHOWS HER BEAUTY THROUGH HER KINDNESS, GENEROSITY, FLEXIBILITY AND LOVE FOR OTHERS, ESPECIALLY CHILDREN, AND OF COURSE, MY SON.

I ADMIRE MY SON-IN-LAW AND DAUGHTER FOR OTHER REASONS.  THEY HAVE A TRUE “PARTNERSHIP”.  THEIR RELATIONSHIP WORKS SO WELL BECAUSE EACH ONE OF THEM PLACE THE OTHER PERSON’S NEEDS BEFORE THEIR OWN.  IT IS A BEAUTIFUL LOVE IN A UNIQUE WAY.  I AM AN ANALYZER BY HEART.  IT IS SOMETHING I CAN’T HELP.  WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT IN OUR OWN WAYS, AND I FIND MYSELF ALWAYS ANALYZING.  WHEN I WATCH MY DAUGHTER AND SON-IN-LAW, I SEE TWO PEOPLE IN LOVE WITH A SON WHO IS MY GRANDSON AND WILL BE 21 MONTHS OLD IN APPROXIMATELY TWO WEEKS.  I NOTICE MY DAUGHTER AND SON-IN-LAW DON’T HAVE TO SPEAK TO COMMUNICATE.  IT IS RATHER UNIQUE.  THEY KNOW WHAT EACH OTHER WANTS BEFORE THEY EACH KNOW WHAT THEY WANT.  IT IS A BEAUTIFUL MARRIAGE AND TRUE MIRACLE THEY FOUND EACH OTHER.  IT MAKES ME BELIEVE THAT THERE IS TRULY ONE SOULMATE FOR EVERY SOUL OUT THERE.

BEFORE I GO ANY FURTHER, LET US TAKE A LOOK AT THE MEANING OF ADMIRATION IN OUR WEBSTER DICTIONARY AND THE DAILY WISDOM WORDS DEFINITION.

DAILY WISDOM WORD MEANING OF ADMIRATION-HAVING THE ABILITY TO APPRECIATE QUALITIES IN OTHERS WITHOUT ENVY OR JEALOUSY.

WEBSTER DEFINITION OF ADMIRATION-1.  RESPECT AND WARM APPROVAL.  2.  SOMETHING REGARDED AS WORTHY OR IMPRESSIVE WITH RESPECT.

LOOKING AT CURRENT EVENTS, I TRULY ADMIRE THE FIRST RESPONDERS OUT THERE RIGHT NOW DEALING WITH COVID-19, TH TO HELP OTHERS, KNOWING THEY ARE PLACING THEMSELVES AT RISK TO CATCH THIS HORRIFIC VIRUS.  I KNOW IT IS NOT SOMETHING I WOULD HAVE THE COURAGE TO DO.  THEY ENTER THE FRONT LINES OF THIS EPIDEMIC OFTEN WITHOUT THE PROPER EQUIPMENT TO BE HELPING ANOTHER SO SICK.  BECAUSE OF A SHORTAGE ON THE GOVERNMENT STOCKPILE AND ALSO A SHORTAGE ON MASKS AND SAFETY GEAR, THEY HAVE HAD TO “GET  CREATIVE” OR “MAKE DO” WITH WHAT THEY HAVE HAD.  I CAN’T IMAGINE HAVING THAT KIND OF COURAGE.

IF I WERE TO LOOK AT GENERAL QUALITIES IN AN INDIVIDUAL I ADMIRE, IT WOULD BE SEEING SOMEONE WHO IS SO GIFTED AT SOMETHING BUT HAS HUMILITY ABOUT WHATEVER IT IS THEY ARE GIFTED AT.  I ADMIRE SOMEONE WHO FEELS THEIR HEART IS TRULY BIG ENOUGH TO GIVE PART OF IT TO ANOTHER.   THIS IS CALLED LOVE.  I GUESS IN THIS WAY, I COULD ADMIRE MYSELF, AS I HAVE AND DO LOVE DEEPLY.  WHAT AND WHO DO YOU ADMIRE?  THIS IS YOUR DAILY WISDOM WORD QUESTION OF THE DAY.  WHAT KIND OF QUALITIES IN AN INDIVIDUAL STAND OUT TO YOU THAT SUBCONSCIOUSLY YOU ADMIRE UNTIL TODAY, BECAUSE I HAVE ASKED YOU ABOUT IT, AND IT IS NOW PART OF YOUR CONSCIOUS THINKING?  BELOW THIS POST ON ADMIRATION TODAY, IS A PLACE CALLED “JOIN THE DISCUSSION”.  IT WOULD MEAN SO MUCH TO ME IF YOU COULD SHARE WITH ME A COMMENT ON WHAT ADMIRATION MEANS TO YOU, OR WHO YOU ADMIRE, OR WHAT QUALITY YOU ADMIRE IN ANOTHER.  YOU COULD ALSO LEAVE ME A POEM ABOUT ADMIRATION OR EVEN A QUOTE.  I WILL LEAVE YOU WITH THIS ONE LAST THOUGHT I HAVE ABOUT ADMIRATION.  “ADMIRATION IS BEING ABLE TO APPRECIATE AND ADORE SOMEONE FOR SOMETHING SPECIAL THAT MAKES THEM SHINE”.

We would love to have you be a part of our family at daily wisdom words.  This webpage, dailywisdomwords.com/admiration is just a small part of the Daily Wisdom Words Community.  We offer a picture poetry prompt where an amazing picture is offered with two words to stimulate your thinking and write a poem.  we offer this 3 to 5 days a week.  Authors:  we offer interviews for you, on youtube with Shirley Satterfield, and Book Reviews we publish on the website, and counseling of writer’s block, and fun exercises to strengthen your writing.  We give each writer a social media page to advertise their writing skills, upload book pictures, connect with other writers/authors to communicate and mentor each other, offer links and a biography about themselves.  Membership is $5 per person and it is good for a lifetime. PRETTY YOUNG THING BY MICHAEL JACKSON

LYRICS

Where did you come from lady
And ooh won’t you take me there
Right away won’t you baby
Tendoroni you’ve got to be
Spark my nature
Sugar fly with me
Don’t you know now
Is the perfect time
We can make it right
Hit the city lights
Then tonight ease the lovin’ pain
Let me take you to the max
I want to love you (P-Y-T)
Pretty young thing
You need some lovin’ (T-L-C)
Tender lovin’ care
And I’ll take you there
I want to love you (P-Y-T)
Pretty young thing
You need some lovin’ (T-L-C)
Tender lovin’ care
And I’ll take you there
Nothin’ can stop this burnin’
Desire to be with you
Gotta get to you baby
Won’t you come, it’s emergency
Cool my fire yearnin’
Honey, come set me free
Don’t you know now is the perfect time
We can dim the lights
Just to make it right
In the night
Hit the lovin’ spot
I’ll give you all that I’ve got
I want to love you (P-Y-T)
Pretty young thing
You need some lovin’ (T-L-C)
Tender lovin’ care
And I’ll take you there
I want to love you (P-Y-T)
Pretty young thing
You need some lovin’ (T-L-C)
Tender lovin’ care
And I’ll take you there
Pretty young things, repeat after me
I said,
Na na na
Na na na na
Na na na na
Na na na
Na na na
I said na na na na na
Na na na na na
I’ll take you there
I want to love you (P-Y-T)
Pretty young thing
You need some lovin’ (T-L-C)
Tender lovin’ care
And I’ll take you there
I want to love you (P-Y-T)
Pretty young thing
You need some lovin’ (T-L-C)
Tender lovin’ care
And I’ll take you there

AURORA

What is an aurora?  Let us take a look at our Webster Dictionary and we will start on one of the most fascinating daily wisdom words we’ve ever written on!  An aurora is one of mother nature’s strangest and majestic phenomena.

Webster Dictionary Definition of Aurora-A natural, electrical phenomenon characterized by the appearance of streamers of reddish or greenish light in the sky, usually near the southern or northern magnetic pole.  2.  the dawn. (literary)

Daily Wisdom Word Definition of Aurora-1.  One of the top ten most fascinating words in the English language.  2.  Mother Nature’s magical miracle that happens at various times of a few years.

The aurora, more commonly known as the Aurora Borealis is a crayon packet of color that streams the sky when it occurs.  In the United Kingdom, some of the most beautiful and unique Aurora’s are actually offered to be seen at different times of the year, and different places with different colors for the aurora in these places.

The Aurora is Mother Nature’s very own celestial light show, a light show that originates 93 million miles away on the surface of the Sun and travels across the frozen wastes of space to create a spectacle that has mesmerised humankind for millennia.

If your wanting to see an aurora for seven nights or more, then Finland would be where you would want to vacation.  Torassieppi resides in the wonderfully remote forested-fells of Finland. A 7-night stay in this secluded spot gives you an excellent chance of seeing the Northern Lights and one vacation itinerary even includes a night in an Aurora Dome.

The Aurora Borealis in all its glory is the most remarkable sights in the world. An Arctic firmament ablaze with swirling ribbons of light is something everybody should witness at least once in their lives. Every Northern Lights holiday is expertly designed to maximise your chances of witnessing this mesmerising natural phenomenon with a particular vacation resort that specializes in Aurora’s with various destinations, and distinctive color pallets at each place.

It is my understanding, that the Aurora Borealis is something of a rarity, not because you don’t have the opportunity to see the aurora, but because our lives are so busy to take a vacation strictly for the view of these amazing synchrony of lights.  We cheat ourselves in life so often, because we don’t take the time out of our schedules to enjoy such natural beauty as this.  Mother nature comes in all forms, and has much beauty to offer, but these lights have got to be amongst the top amazement to see.

There is another perspective in which to look at this.  Perhaps it is not our fault, we don’t get away to visit such natural phenomena.  If your single and wealthy, these are the types of things you can truly enjoy, leaving you with breathtaking memories and mental pictures.  We will never, unfortunately get to see such majestic beauty because when we do have the time and money saved all year towards a vacation, we simply look for a Sandals Resort Vacation to save money and to please everyone in the family that is going.

There is truly magic in mother nature’s wand, and she waves it brightly with the Aurora lights.  Check the internet to find the ideal place with the ideal chance of seeing such glorious beauty.

We can go after a rain, and occasionally we will see a rainbow, which is magic itself.  However, these are pastel colors, and on the opposite side of a color wheel, and much more common than the lights of the aurora borealis.

Thank you so much for reading about “the aurora’s” today with me.  My dream in life is to go visit these someday.  Often, with the proper planning our dreams can become our reality.

Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder

“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.”

This proverb was first written by author Margaret Wolfe Hungerford in 1878.

Unfortunately, as time passed and pop culture became more and more inundated with stereotypical definitions of what beauty is, Hungerford’s expression, sadly, has been put out to pasture.

Perhaps it’s time now to not only seriously give this proverb more latitude but also add to it.

Specifically, in the age of mental health awareness, it needs to be said that beauty is first born from within and then manifests itself in a more tangible manner on the outside.
