“You are responsible for everything you post [on social media] and everything you post will be a reflection of you.”
-Germany K
We’ve all done this at some point. You grab your phone to check a “few” social media notifications. You’re sure it won’t take more than a few minutes.
You reply back, hit all the “likes,” share what you find interesting and look at the clock. Surprise surprise, it’s a few hours later!
“Procrastination is the thief of time.”
-Edward Young
You do it. I do it. We all do it at some point in our lives. Some may do it more than others. But the devil called procrastination has visited all of us at least once and usually, multiple times through various trials and tribulations.
How do we combat it?
“Our anxiety does not come from thinking about the future, but from wanting to control over it.”

Imagine this scenario. You’ve just ordered something online. It could be a book or clothing or furniture or new glasses or anything under the sun. Whatever it is, once you order it, you keep checking the status. When the notification of shipment comes, you look up the tracking number four times a day in spite of being aware that it won’t change in a day.

We’ve all heard of the basic elements that we need to survive: water, fire, air, space, etc. But what would happen if two or more of those elements had a union? I was having these thoughts when I took today’s picture a few days ago. I then digitally added the sun and the moon in … Read more

Does God hate me?
I used to think this quite often when I was younger and didn’t get my way. When I talk about not getting my way, I’m not implying desires like wanting a million dollars or a wanting a mansion.

Imagine this scenario. You upload something on social media. It could a be a picture or a poem a link to an article or anything else.
You finishing uploading and fix your gaze on the notification icon, waiting for it to blow up. (Or so you wish). But nothing significant happens. You might get one or two likes or you might not. And in sets the disappointment. Sound familiar?
“Your flaws are perfect for the heart that is meant to love you.”
-Unknown
I’m flawed. You’re flawed. We’re all flawed and that’s okay. If we weren’t, we wouldn’t be human beings. Being flawed is an inevitable trait since the dawn of time and will be there until all life has perished.
So why do we not proclaim it as loudly as we do our talents and skills?
“It is hard to fail but it is worse never to have tried to succeed.”
-Theodore Roosevelt
Everyone wants to be happy, right?
You’re constantly wishing and/or praying that whatever problems you have in life go away, right? And yet, there’s a feeling, an emotion, that what if you achieve what you want and you fail at maintaining or preserving it?
Tall and soaring? What do these two words mean to you? The obvious definitions are of course related to height and flying high, respectively. But there’s an entire universe beyond what’s on paper. You can “stand tall” and still be short biologically. You can “soar high” through pivotal achievements even if you’re not literally anywhere … Read more

-Paulo Cohelo
When is it good to be selfish?
Caring for and assisting others is no doubt, an admirable quality. Without that aspect of humanity, the world would never move forward.

“Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant.”
-Robert Louis Stevenson
In previous articles, I’ve talked about planting the seeds, so to speak for any task or endeavor. For example, if you have writer’s block, I’ve suggested that keeping writing “I don’t know what to write” over and over till you think of something.
“Before you ‘assume’, try this crazy method called asking.”

The year is 2000. I’m in high school. The bell has rung and I’m about to go from choir class to Spanish class. Spanish class has two textbooks which my teacher, Mr. Brown, uses interchangeably. Unfortunately, I’m not sure which one is needed for that particular day. Perhaps Mr. Brown had mentioned it the day before and perhaps he hadn’t. I can’t remember.
